Fielding Hurst
Fielding Jackson Hurst, a surveyor, planter, and lawyer from McNairy County, Tennessee, served as a colonel in the Union Army, commanding the 6th Regiment Tennessee Volunteer Cavalry during the Civil War. LeRoy Fitch
LeRoy Fitch served with distinction in the U.S. Navy during the Civil War, commanding the gunboat Moose on the Mississippi Squadron. In 1863 he pursued Confederate raider General John Hunt Morgan some 500 miles up the Ohio River, blocking his attempts to cross back into Confederate territory. He died in Logansport, Indiana, in 1875.
