Alexander P. Stewart

Alexander Peter Stewart, a college professor before the war, served as a Confederate general in the Civil War, fighting in many of the most significant battles of the Western Theater and briefly commanding the Army of Tennessee in 1865. He was born in 1821 and died in 1908.
