Orlando H. Moore commanded the 25th Michigan Infantry during the Civil War. He is best known for leading roughly 200 to 260 Union soldiers who fortified a crossing at Tebbs Bend (Green River Bridge), Kentucky, and on July 4, 1863, refused a surrender demand from Confederate General John Hunt Morgan, repelling eight assaults by his much larger raiding force.
