Kenner Garrard

Brigadier General Kenner Garrard commanded the 146th New York Infantry and later the Second Cavalry Division, Military Division of the Mississippi. He fought at Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, and Gettysburg before leading cavalry through Sherman’s Atlanta Campaign and the Battle of Nashville. He survived the war, resigned in 1866, and settled in Cincinnati as a real estate broker and civic figure until his death in 1879.
