Isaac M. Kirby

Colonel Isaac M. Kirby commanded the 101st Ohio Volunteer Infantry, having been promoted to that rank in December 1862 following the Battle of Stones River. He later led the First Brigade, First Division, Fourth Army Corps, seeing action in the Atlanta Campaign and at the battles of Franklin and Nashville. Brevetted brigadier general in January 1865, Kirby survived the war and lived until 1917, dying in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.
