Alfred D. Owen

Alfred D. Owen served as lieutenant colonel of the 80th Indiana Infantry Regiment during the Civil War, commanding the regiment in two separate stretches, January to May 1864 and August 1864 to June 1865. His first term of command spanned fighting around Kennesaw Mountain and the Atlanta siege, while his second covered the Nashville and Carolinas campaigns through the regiment’s muster-out at Salisbury in 1865.
