Nathan B. Forrest
Nathan Bedford Forrest rose rapidly from private to general in the Confederate States Army during the Civil War, noted for his aggressive cavalry tactics. After the war, he was inaugurated as the first Grand Wizard of the Reconstruction-era Ku Klux Klan. He was born in 1821 and died in 1877.
