Edmund W. Pettus
Edmund Winston Pettus, a lawyer, commanded infantry in the Western Theater as a senior Confederate officer during the Civil War. After the war he represented Alabama in the United States Senate from 1897 to 1907. He was born in 1821 and died in 1907.
