BATTLE OF NASHVILLE TRUST CREATES NEW INTERACTIVE MAP OF ALL NASHVILLE AREA CIVIL WAR HISTORICAL MARKERS

In the Summer of 2025, The Battle of Nashville Trust conducted a survey of historical markers containing information relevant to the Civil War in Nashville, and created an interactive map of the survey results. The map features color-coded, searchable pins for locating five categories of historical markers and places. Included are 28 markers installed by the Tennessee Historical Commission (red pins) and another 11 by the Metro Historical Commission (blue pins). BONT found that 11 previously-installed markers are missing (yellow pins). It also includes seven Blockhouse locations (purple pins), as well as a wish-list of an additional 24 markers which are needed to identify important historical sites, which the Trust expects to get installed by 2030 (green pins).

University of Alabama senior Anna Grace Beddingfield, a Nashville native who worked during the summer of 2025 as an intern for the Trust, conducted the research and survey, and created the map. Other parts of her extensive research and digital work will appear in other pages of the website.
